Northeast Mississippi Community College Honors Spring 2026 Prison Education Graduates
Sixteen students participating in Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Prison Education Program were recognized during a ceremony honoring their achievements. The program, a partnership with the Mississippi Humanities Council, aims to provide educational opportunities to incarcerated individuals.
Among the graduates, two students earned Humanities Certificates, and two completed their HiSET, the high school equivalency exam. The program continues to demonstrate the positive impact of education in correctional settings, emphasizing opportunity and learning.
The college highlighted the program’s role in transforming lives and promoting rehabilitation through education. The initiative underscores the importance of providing educational resources within the justice system, college officials said.
