Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Several Southern States

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. CDT, according to a post on the agency’s social media account.

The watch indicates that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms that could produce damaging winds, hail, or both. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert and monitor local weather updates.

There is no immediate indication of severe weather occurring at this time, but authorities urge preparedness as conditions could change quickly.
