NEMCC recognizes Kim Smith as Adult Education assistant director

Kim Smith, assistant director of adult education at Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC), was spotlighted for her dedication to adult learning and workforce development.

Smith describes adult education as a chance for individuals to restart their lives, gain confidence, and realize their potential. She said her role is about more than helping students earn a high school equivalency or develop skills; it’s about opening doors and creating opportunities for lifelong growth.

“Every student’s journey is different, and adult education allows me to meet people where they are and help them take the next step toward a brighter future,” Smith said.

The college expressed appreciation for her passion and commitment to the program. Her work supports initiatives like the HiSET exam and other adult education efforts in Mississippi.
