Severe Weather Outlook Remains Low Risk for Tornadoes in the Memphis Area

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, issued a midday update on tonight’s severe weather outlook, indicating little change from earlier forecasts.

There remains a low risk of tornadoes, but if a tornado were to form, it could be strong enough to cause EF2 damage, particularly over eastern Arkansas, southwest Tennessee, and northwest Mississippi, according to NWS forecasts.

Localized flash flooding is also a concern, especially around the Memphis area late tonight. Authorities warn drivers to avoid flooded roadways, as nighttime flooding can be especially hazardous.

Residents are advised to stay alert for weather updates and seek shelter if severe storms develop. Emergency services recommend exercising caution and not attempting to drive through flooded areas.
