PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen 2011 green Polaris Ranger 570 after it was reported missing from a property on County Road 1280 on July 13, 2026.
Deputies Ridge Lawson and AJ Navarro, along with Investigator Aaron Stolz and Investigator Torie Jumper, responded to the scene and collected evidence, including a cut gate lock and signs the vehicle had been taken from a barn. Following an investigation, authorities located the stolen side-by-side at a residence on County Road 1254.
The vehicle had been spray-painted and was missing several parts, including the bed, windshield, tailgate, rims, and tires, which were recovered from multiple locations. After interviews and statements, investigators arrested Joshua Thomas, 29, and Ricky Ott, 46, both of Booneville.
Thomas was charged with grand larceny and malicious mischief, while Ott faced charges of receiving stolen property and malicious mischief. The suspects were taken to the Prentiss County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000 each by Justice Court Judge Ray Hall.
Investigator Aaron Stolz is leading the case and plans to present it to the next Prentiss County grand jury. The sheriff’s department credited the teamwork of deputies and investigators for their efforts in recovering the stolen property and making arrests.
