Corinth Warrior Tag Deadline Extended to Nov. 19

The Corinth Warrior tag deadline has been pushed back. The Corinth School District Foundation now has until Nov. 19, 2026 to collect pre-orders for the district’s first specialty license plate, and it needs 300 of them before the state will start making the plates.

The district announced the extension on Oct. 27. Foundation leaders are asking Corinth alumni, parents and supporters across Mississippi to help finish the fundraiser.

Why the Corinth Warrior Tag Needs 300 Pre-Orders

The Mississippi Department of Revenue won’t produce a new specialty plate until a minimum number of applications is in hand. For the Warrior tag, that number is 300. Once the foundation reaches it, the paperwork and fees go to state officials. The district says production then takes about three to four months.

Each tag carries a $33 pre-order fee, and $24 of that goes back to the Corinth School District Foundation. The district estimates the plate would bring in more than $7,000 a year in recurring money for Corinth classrooms once the 300-tag minimum is met.

What the Foundation Pays For

The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was started in 2015. It gives out about $24,000 a year through classroom grants, student incentives and appreciation events. The district says that in the first nine weeks of this school year, foundation money reached more than 630 students and 40 teachers through 15 classroom grants.

Grants funded this fall include:

  • Chicken hatchery supplies, including a brooder box, for a 6th grade science class
  • A restock of the Corinth Middle School Essentials Closet
  • French curriculum at Corinth High School
  • A field trip to Rowan Oak for a Mississippi Writers class
  • Uniforms for Corinth High Health Sciences clinical students
  • Reading charms for 2nd graders and a wearable art project for CMS Media Arts
  • A “Manners Matter” seminar, plus perfect-attendance rewards for students and teachers

New foundation board member Jordan Worsham called the brooder box, which lets students watch chicks hatch and learn to care for them, one of their favorite examples of grants that “bring classroom lessons to life.” Lindley Brawner, owner of Manners Matter, said the foundation pays for “extras” that teachers would otherwise have to buy themselves. The district notes the foundation can supply resources the schools can’t, because of state purchasing laws or budget limits.
