Magnolia Regional Heart Care Noted in U.S. News Edition

Corinth’s hospital is getting national attention for its cardiac program. Magnolia Regional Health Center says its heart care work earned it a place in the U.S. News & World Report 2027 Best Hospitals edition, part of a feature on the American College of Cardiology’s quality improvement programs. The hospital announced the recognition on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The listing reflects how Magnolia Regional heart care is tracked and measured against national standards.

Why Magnolia Regional Heart Care Was Recognized

According to the hospital, the recognition is tied to three parts of its cardiac program:

  • NCDR Chest Pain-MI Registry: Magnolia takes part in the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry for patients who come in with chest pain or a heart attack.
  • NCDR CathPCI Registry: the hospital also reports data to the ACC registry that tracks cardiac catheterization and stent procedures.
  • Chest Pain Center Accreditation: this accreditation covers how quickly and consistently patients with possible heart attack symptoms are evaluated, diagnosed and treated.

This is not a ranking. The hospital says it was included in the edition’s ACC section alongside many other hospitals nationwide that take part in the same programs.

What the National Registries Do

Hospitals in the NCDR program submit clinical data on their cardiac patients. That lets them measure their own performance, spot areas to improve and compare their results with established national standards. Magnolia says it uses the data to support evidence-based care for people with chest pain, heart attacks and other heart conditions.

The Chest Pain Center Accreditation depends on teamwork across the hospital. Magnolia credited its physicians, nurses, emergency department staff and cardiac care teams, who work together when “every minute matters” for a heart attack patient.

Cardiologist: Advanced Care Close to Home

Dr. Paul Volansky, an interventional cardiologist and the director of Magnolia’s cardiology fellowship program, said the hospital was proud to be recognized alongside hospitals across the country.

“Our participation in these national registries and our Chest Pain Center Accreditation reflect the dedication of our entire cardiac care team,” Volansky said in the hospital’s announcement. He added that the team works every day to provide “high-quality, advanced heart care right here in our community.”

Magnolia Regional Health Center serves patients across Northeast Mississippi and Southwest Tennessee, including Alcorn, Tishomingo and Prentiss counties. The hospital says it offers a full range of heart services, from emergency cardiac care and diagnostic testing to interventional cardiology and long-term heart health management. It says it will keep investing in staff, services and technology so patients don’t have to travel far for care.
