Magnolia Regional Partners With Relias on Hospitalists
Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth has partnered with Tupelo-based Relias Healthcare to provide physician and advanced practice clinician coverage for its hospital medicine program. The move is meant to strengthen the Magnolia Regional hospitalist team and make it easier for the hospital to recruit and keep doctors and other providers, according to an announcement reported by the Daily Corinthian.
Hospital leaders say patients should not notice a change in the care they receive.
For patients and families, that means the same admitting process, the same nursing staff, and the same hospital. The change is mainly in how the physician side of inpatient care is staffed and supported behind the scenes.
What the Magnolia Regional hospitalist partnership means
Hospitalists are physicians and advanced practice providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who care for patients while they are admitted to the hospital. They manage treatment during a stay, coordinate with specialists, and plan discharges. Rural and regional hospitals across the country often struggle to keep those positions filled.
Under the new arrangement, Relias Healthcare will provide hospital medicine coverage at the Corinth hospital. The goal, according to the announcement, is to grow the team and help with recruiting and retaining physicians and advanced practice providers.
Ben Long, MD, said patients can expect “the same high-quality, compassionate care they have always received,” and described the partnership as part of the hospital’s commitment to its staff and patients.
A hospital medical leader added that MRHC is excited about the chance to grow its team and keep providing strong care close to home.

Why it matters for Alcorn County
Magnolia Regional Health Center is the main hospital for Corinth and much of the surrounding region, including Alcorn, Tishomingo, and Prentiss counties and parts of southern Tennessee. A stable hospitalist group helps keep inpatient care local so patients and families do not have to travel farther for treatment.
The partnership comes as the hospital works on other growth projects. The City of Corinth is setting up accounts for state funds tied to MRHC’s planned residency building, part of a broader effort to train and keep physicians in the area.
