Corinth Freedom Center Campus Adds Chapel, Cottages
Work is moving forward on the new Freedom Center campus off Central School Road in Alcorn County. The chapel and multipurpose building at the heart of the property is finished, three residential cottages are under construction, and more buildings are planned, according to the Daily Corinthian.
The Freedom Center is run by Living Free Ministries, a Christian residential recovery program in Corinth for men working to overcome addiction.
What’s built on the Freedom Center campus so far
Founder Tommy Wilson describes the campus as a long-term project being built in stages. Here is where it stands:
- Chapel and multipurpose building: Recently completed and sitting at the center of the campus.
- Cottages: Three are now under construction, with more planned.
- Current Freedom Center building: Will be converted into a transitional housing program to help graduates as they return to everyday life.
Wilson said everything built so far has been paid for. He said he looks forward to the day the campus can host graduations, family days, and other events, and said the work there “is going to change lives for generations to come.”
$750,000 fundraising goal
Ministry leaders have set a goal of raising $750,000 by the end of 2026 to finish the cottages and other work on the property.
A public dinner is planned for Nov. 17 at The Woodlands, where organizers will share their plans for the future of the campus. Anyone interested in supporting the project or learning more can contact Living Free Ministries in Corinth.
Graduates share what the program meant
Two men nearing graduation, Gary Bradshaw and Chapper Milligan, spoke about their time in the program.
Milligan said the program helped him see that he didn’t have to handle everything on his own. “It’s been a blessing,” he said.
Bradshaw said the sense of brotherhood, and being around people who understand the struggle, mattered most to him. Both men said support from the community, including local churches, has meant a great deal to them.
Recovery resources in Northeast Mississippi
The Freedom Center is one of several faith-based and community recovery efforts in the area. Earlier this month, a new recovery center opened in neighboring Prentiss County. Read more in our story on the Prentiss County Recovery Center.
Programs like this often rely on community donations, volunteer labor, and church partnerships to grow, and ministry leaders say the next phase of the campus depends on that continued support.
