Man making school threats on local school arrested
Man arrested after threats were allegedly made involving local school, causing school to go in lockdown.
On February 28th, 2023 the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department was made aware of an
ongoing situation involving Lanny Howard Elliott (54) of Rienzi, MS. Along with facility members
of the Jumpertown School.
Elliott allegedly made threats to come to Jumpertown School and cause bodily harm.
This resulted in the lockdown of the school for the safety of the faculty and student’s.
An affidavit was signed and a warrant was issued for Aggravated Stalking.
On Wednesday March 1, 2023 Investigator’s Jason Chism, Torie Jumper and Deputy Josh Brumley arrested Elliott at his residence, without incident. Bond was set at $5,000.00 with a no contact order.
The case will be presented to a Prentiss County
Grand Jury.
