Mississippi House Education Committee suggests $9 per week pay raise for teachers

The MS House education committee passed a bill calling for a $1000 pay raise for teachers, phased in over two years.

The $500 per year raise comes out to roughly $9.61 per week, before taxes.

The total cost of this pay raise would come in at over $100 million.

The Bill now goes for further discussion.
