Corinth Police Officer of the Year: Det. Brad Beaty Honored

The Corinth Police Officer of the Year for 2026 is Detective Brad Beaty. The Corinth Police Department announced the honor on Thursday, Oct. 29, saying Beaty was recognized at an awards event hosted by the Corinth VFW to honor local men and women who serve the community.

In its announcement, the department called the award “a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving the Corinth community” and said it is proud to have Beaty on the force.

A photo shared by the department shows Beaty holding a Law Enforcement Award plaque from the VFW. He is standing in front of an American flag with three fellow Corinth officers at the VFW hall.

The department also publicly thanked the Corinth VFW for hosting the event and “for taking the time to recognize and honor the men and women who serve our community.”

Veterans of Foreign Wars posts across the country regularly recognize police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical workers in their communities. The awards give veterans a way to thank the people who keep their hometowns safe, and they give departments a chance to highlight work that rarely makes headlines.

What a Detective Does for Corinth

Detectives handle the follow-up work after a crime is reported. That can mean interviewing victims and witnesses, collecting and reviewing evidence, writing search warrants, working with prosecutors, and testifying in court. In a city the size of Corinth, a small detective unit often covers everything from property crimes and fraud to violent offenses.

The department did not list the specific cases or accomplishments that led to Beaty’s selection. The post focused on his dedication and his commitment to the community.

A Busy Season for the Corinth Police Department

The recognition comes during a busy month for the department. In October, Corinth’s mayor and police chief took the oath of office. Corinth officers also worked alongside state and federal agencies to handle traffic, parking, and security for President Donald Trump’s Oct. 26 rally at the Crossroads Arena. City leaders afterward praised how smoothly the event went.

Residents who want to congratulate Beaty can leave a message on the Corinth Police Department’s Facebook page, where the department shared the announcement. The department is located at 2837 S. Harper Road in Corinth.
