Man sentenced in Alcorn County to 30 years in prison for sexual battery of a child

JULY 8, 2022 CORINTH, MS

Randy Lee Downs of Booneville, MS, age 53, will serve the next 30 years in the State Penitentiary.

An Alcorn county jury convicted Downs of Sexual Battery and Fondling on Thursday.

Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills, Jr. sentenced Downs this morning. Downs’ victim was a minor at the time the offenses were committed.

Assistant District Attorneys Clay Cummings and Megan French prosecuted the case for the State.
