Fire Weather Warning Issued for Memphis Area as Conditions Worsen

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected in the Memphis area on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Humidity levels are forecast to drop to around 25 percent, with wind gusts reaching 25 mph.

An areawide Rangeland Fire Danger Statement will go into effect at noon and remain in place until 7 p.m., the weather service said. Residents are urged to heed local burn bans and avoid activities that could spark fires.

Officials emphasize the importance of remaining cautious during this period of increased fire danger to prevent wildfires from spreading.
