First Circuit District Attorney’s Office concludes Operation Reload, launches Operation Loadout in Mississippi
Tupele, Miss. — The First Circuit District Attorney’s Office announced the conclusion of Operation Reload on Thursday, highlighting cooperation among multiple law enforcement agencies. The office credited Captain Leslie Brazil of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics for her leadership in the operation.
District Attorney Jason D. Herring said the operation successfully removed numerous major drug traffickers from the district. He emphasized the importance of prosecuting those responsible for bringing illegal drugs into communities, especially fentanyl, which he described as highly lethal.
Herring also announced the launch of Operation Loadout, an expanded effort to target drug trafficking hotspots across the district. The initiative aims to strengthen collaborative enforcement and disrupt illicit drug activity across county lines.
Herring stressed that law enforcement remains committed to pursuing traffickers whenever sufficient evidence exists. He urged community members to educate their families about the dangers of fentanyl and fentanyl-laced drugs, noting that one conversation could save a life.
He concluded by reaffirming the district’s dedication to removing dangerous drugs from communities and holding traffickers accountable, emphasizing ongoing cooperation among agencies.
