Join CoCoRaHS to Report Rainfall and See Rainbows
Rainbows often appear after rain, signaling precipitation has fallen. The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) is calling on weather enthusiasts to help track rainfall by becoming volunteer observers.
Participants can join by visiting cocorahs.org and reporting rainfall and weather conditions from their locations. The data collected helps improve weather forecasts and drought monitoring, officials said.
CoCoRaHS promotes community involvement in weather observation and encourages people to share their observations, including sightings of rainbows, which often follow rain showers. The organization uses social media with the hashtag #RainGaugeRally to engage participants.
