Man sentenced to 18 years for child exploitation in Mississippi

FARMINGTON, Miss. — Wilson Frederick Jones, 31, a former school teacher in the Corinth School District, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to six counts of child exploitation, according to Alcorn County Circuit Court records.

Judge John R. White sentenced Jones during a hearing Monday, ordering the term to run concurrent with a prior 60-month federal sentence. Jones will serve the full 18-year sentence, with no suspension, due to the severity of the crimes.

Jones, who entered his guilty pleas earlier in the day, will be incarcerated in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The court also suspended an additional 102 years in his sentence. The charges stem from abuse allegations involving minors, with details not specified in court documents.

The district attorney’s office credited law enforcement agencies for their extensive work on the case. Authorities involved included the Corinth Police Department, the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi. Prosecutors Kyle Robbins and Clay Cummings handled the case for the state, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office.
