IOKA, Mississippi — A man convicted of second-degree murder was sentenced to 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole, according to court records.
Randy Barrett Kelly, 38, pleaded guilty to the charge on August 18, 2026. On Monday, Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims sentenced him to 40 years, with 10 years suspended, leaving 30 years to serve. Kelly will serve the sentence day for day, with no early release or parole eligibility.
The case involved the killing of Robert Andrew Huddleston Jr. The sentencing followed testimony from three members of Huddleston’s family before Kelly addressed the court. After the statements, Judge Mims issued the sentence.
The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, led by investigator Adam Kostelansky. The district attorney’s office praised Kostelansky and the sheriff’s office for their work in bringing the case to resolution and providing closure for the Huddleston family.
Assistant District Attorney Clay Cummings prosecuted the case on behalf of the state. Jason D. Herring is the district attorney for the First Circuit Court District.
