Mississippi Declares July 4th as Free Fishing Day
Mississippi has designated July 4th as a “Free Fishing Day,” allowing residents to fish without a license, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
Unlike in June, permits are still required for fishing at state-owned lakes on July 4th. The day provides an opportunity for beginners to try fishing and for seasoned anglers to introduce others to the sport.
Residents can find a public fishing lake near them by visiting the department’s website at https://www.mdwfp.com/statelakes.
