Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks honors fallen officers

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) honored officers who lost their lives in the line of duty since 1932 during a memorial service held Wednesday.

MDWFP Executive Director Lynn Posey said, “Today, we honor the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, serving MDWFP and the citizens of Mississippi. Their dedication and heroism will forever be remembered.”

The department expressed gratitude to the families of the fallen, law enforcement officials, and everyone who attended the event. They also thanked Representative Bill Kinkade for his support.

Law enforcement is a dangerous profession, and MDWFP emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by these officers to protect citizens and natural resources.

More information about the memorial service can be found on the department’s website.
