Mississippi Department of Wildlife Hosts Successful 2026 Fish Camp
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks’ 2026 BTFH VEC Fish Camp concluded successfully, according to department officials.
Participants learned how to bait, cast, and fish for catfish and bream. They also engaged in fish identification and hatchery lessons and earned their National Park Service Junior Angler badges, the department said.
The event featured contributions from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers rangers, who provided water safety tips, and the National Park Service, which joined the camp activities. MDWFP law enforcement officers also taught water safety practices.
The department described the camp as an annual event and encouraged those who missed this year’s session to mark their calendars for next year. More information about the Visitor Education Center can be found at the department’s website.
