Officials emphasized that the department does not send threatening texts or ask for payments through links. Residents are urged not to click on any links, reply to the messages, or share personal information.
MS DPS officials remind the public to remain vigilant and to delete any suspicious messages. They also encourage reporting such scams to local authorities to help prevent others from falling victim.
