Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Reports No Dam Breach at Anchor Lake

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is on scene at the dam at Anchor Lake in Pearl River County, according to officials. The Mississippi Department of Environment Quality said the dam has not been breached and is functioning as designed during the high-water event.

Water levels at the lake are currently receding, officials noted. As a precaution, approximately 30 homes have been evacuated in the area.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have not issued any further evacuation orders. No injuries or damages have been reported at this time, officials said.
