Mississippi man gets 15-year sentence for meth trafficking
GREENWOOD, Miss. — Dale Wayne Griggs was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to methamphetamine trafficking, according to court records.
Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. of the Circuit Court sentenced Griggs on May 14, 2026, to serve 40 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. However, 25 years of that sentence were suspended, leaving 15 years to serve. Griggs will serve his sentence day-for-day without the possibility of parole or early release.
After his release, Griggs will be required to complete five years of post-release supervision, the court said. The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, which was praised by the District Attorney’s Office for its efforts in targeting narcotics traffickers, according to District Attorney Jason D. Herring.
