Corinth Man Sentenced to 10 Years to Serve in Meth Trafficking Case
CORINTH, Miss. — A Corinth man will serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine during the first week of the October term of Alcorn County Circuit Court.
Darnell Durr, Sr., 52, of Corinth, entered a guilty plea on Thursday, October 22, 2026, to trafficking methamphetamine. Circuit Judge Kelly L. Mims sentenced Durr to a total of 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 30 years suspended and 10 years to serve in prison. Upon release, Durr will be required to complete 5 years of post-release supervision.
Under Mississippi law, a defendant convicted of trafficking narcotics is not eligible for parole or any other form of early release. As a result, Durr will be required to serve the full 10 years of his sentence in prison.
The charge resulted from an investigation conducted by the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department.
Durr was among multiple defendants sentenced during the first week of the October term, including Antonius Bean, who received 40 years, and Virginia Schauer, who received 30 years.
