Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fentanyl trafficking
TUPELO, Miss. — A man convicted of fentanyl trafficking in Mississippi received a 12-year prison sentence. Kevin Deshone Dilworth pleaded guilty to the charges before Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims on May 7, 2026, according to court records.
Judge Mims sentenced Dilworth to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 28 years suspended, leaving 12 years to serve. Under Mississippi law, Dilworth is not eligible for parole or early release and must serve the full term. After completing his sentence, he will be on post-release supervision for five years, court documents show.
The case was investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit. Authorities emphasized their commitment to removing fentanyl from local streets and protecting communities from dangerous controlled substances.
