Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fentanyl trafficking

Alderius Rashad Morrow was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to fentanyl trafficking in Mississippi on May 4, 2026. The case was heard in Circuit Court before Judge Kelly L. Mims.

Judge Mims sentenced Morrow to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 28 years suspended. The remaining 12 years will be served without the possibility of parole or early release, as he was convicted of a trafficking offense, which mandates full service of the sentence.

The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit investigated Morrow’s criminal activity. The District Attorney’s Office credited NMNU’s efforts in targeting narcotics traffickers in the community. Assistant District Attorney Megan French prosecuted the case on behalf of the state.

Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, announced the sentence.
