Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council opens registration for biennial meeting

Registration is now open for the Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council’s biennial membership meeting, scheduled for September 17, 2026, at the Forrest County Extension Center in Hattiesburg.

The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will feature discussions on liability and insurance concerns, prescribed fire training, future research needs, and more, according to the council.

Registered foresters will be eligible for four CAT 4 continuing education credits. The meeting offers an opportunity for fire practitioners, partners, and professionals to connect and share knowledge about prescribed fire in Mississippi.
