Mississippi wildlife officers use K-9 to recover firearm during turkey season investigation

Mississippi wildlife officers used a K-9 to assist in a trespassing and hunting investigation during turkey season in Tunica County, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Pvt. Clark requested support from Sgt. Marascalco and K-9 Loki after discovering possible illegal hunting activity. K-9 Loki tracked more than two miles through the woods to the scene of the suspected activity.

The dog successfully recovered a firearm hidden at the location. Authorities issued charges for hunting without a license and trespassing, the department said.

Officials credited Pvt. Clark, Sgt. Marascalco, and K-9 Loki for their work in the case.
