Mississippi’s ‘Fire on the Forty’ Program Opens Applications for 2026

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced that applications are open for the 2026 ‘Fire on the Forty’ program. The cost-share initiative encourages landowners to use prescribed fire to enhance wildlife habitats and better manage their properties.

Applications will be accepted from May 1 through June 19. The program provides financial assistance to help landowners implement prescribed burns safely and effectively.
