Mississippi opens private lands alligator season applications through 2026

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced that applications for the private lands alligator season are still open, even though the public water draw period has ended. All applications must be submitted online, according to MDWFP.

The private lands alligator season will run from noon on August 28 until 6 a.m. on September 21. The department encourages hunters to apply early, as the application window closes on July 1, 2026.

For instructions on how to complete the online application and to apply, visit the MDWFP website at https://www.mdwfp.com/wildlife-hunting/wildlife-species-program/alligator-program/private-lands-and-permits.
