Prentiss County man arrested on child molestation charge

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Cristofer Clinton Carpenter, 39, of Booneville, following an investigation into a report involving a four-year-old child who was allegedly inappropriately touched.

After the initial report, the child participated in a forensic interview, during which a disclosure was made. Based on the findings, affidavits were signed, and a warrant was issued for Carpenter’s arrest.

Carpenter has been charged with one count of molesting a child or mentally defective person for a lustful purpose. Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set his bond at $100,000, cash or professional bond only, and ordered no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.

The case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury by Investigator Torie Jumper. Investigator Aaron Stolz and Deputy AJ Navarro assisted in the investigation.
