Prentiss County man charged with embezzlement from Dollar General
The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of missing money and merchandise at a Dollar General store, authorities said. Deputy Dennis Peeks completed an initial report after arriving at the scene.
Following the investigation, Joshua Dean Leon, 44, of Corinth, was charged with embezzlement. He is accused of stealing more than $4,000 from the store, according to officials.
Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set Leon’s bond at $10,000. Authorities also have a hold on Leon through the Mississippi Department of Corrections, as he was on house arrest at the time of the alleged theft.
Investigator Kolby Knight is expected to present the case to the upcoming Prentiss County Grand Jury. Investigators Torie Jumper and Aaron Stolz assisted in the case, officials said.
