Strong southerly winds gusting over 40 miles per hour are affecting parts of the area, according to weather officials.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory that remains in effect until 7 a.m. Monday.

Residents are advised to secure loose items, such as trash bins and outdoor furniture, to prevent damage or injury caused by the gusty winds.

Officials warn that the strong winds could cause localized power outages and hazardous driving conditions.
