Authorities have urged drivers on Interstate 55 north of Batesville and Interstate 22 north of Lake Center to turn around immediately. Road crews are working to remove stranded vehicles from these routes.
Officials warn that the roadways are in extremely dangerous condition. Other state highways and county roads in the area may also be affected by similar conditions.
Travelers are advised to limit trips in North Mississippi and exercise extreme caution if travel is necessary. No injuries or incidents have been reported at this time.
