NEMCC staffer joins statewide workforce convening panel

Northeast Mississippi Community College said Workforce Project Manager Adam White took part in the 2026 Ascent to 55% Convening on Thursday, joining Dr. Lisa Larson of the Education Design Lab for the luncheon keynote conversation. Scott Waller moderated the discussion.

The convening focused on connecting education to employment and developing Mississippi's workforce pipeline. NEMCC said White discussed the college's partnership with the Education Design Lab and AccelerateMS, including efforts to redesign programs so classroom learning connects directly to careers.

White also described building stackable pathways that let students go to work and keep advancing their education. He said the work includes bringing employers in at the start of program design and measuring success as the model grows across Mississippi.

The college said the event brought together leaders from education, business, workforce development, government and communities across the state. NEMCC framed the partnership work as part of a broader effort to shape Mississippi's workforce future.
