Tishomingo County Christmas Parades Set for Dec. 4-7

Tishomingo County Christmas parades fill the first weekend of December this year. Iuka, Tishomingo, Belmont and Burnsville each have a parade on the official county tourism calendar between Dec. 4 and Dec. 7. Burnsville is also adding something new: its first Christmas on Ice celebration, with an ice skating rink next to City Hall.

The schedule below comes from the events calendar kept by Explore Tishomingo County, the county’s tourism site. Times are as listed there, and organizers may update them, so check the event pages before you head out.

Tishomingo County Christmas Parades Schedule

  • Iuka Christmas Parade: Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.
  • Christmas in Tishomingo and Tishomingo Christmas Parade: Saturday, Dec. 5. Holiday activities run from 3 to 6 p.m., and the parade starts at 6 p.m.
  • Belmont Christmas on Main and Christmas Parade: Sunday, Dec. 6. Vendors and music start at 2 p.m. in downtown Belmont. Parade line-up begins at 5:15 p.m., and the parade steps off around 6 p.m.
  • Burnsville Christmas Parade: Monday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.

Burnsville’s First Christmas on Ice

Burnsville is calling its Christmas on Ice “a new Burnsville holiday tradition.” The event runs next to Burnsville City Hall at 38 Gross Ave. on two days:

  • Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 8 p.m.

The event flyer lists an ice skating rink, pictures with Santa, Christmas crafts for kids, local vendors and food vendors. That makes the Dec. 5-7 weekend a full one for Burnsville families, with Christmas on Ice on Saturday and Sunday and the town’s parade on Monday night.

Christmas in Tishomingo and Christmas on Main in Belmont

The town of Tishomingo’s afternoon celebration on Dec. 5 includes children’s activities, free hot chocolate, local vendors with holiday shopping, and food trucks. The event listing says Santa is expected at the parade that follows.

Belmont’s Christmas on Main on Dec. 6 promises holiday shopping, live holiday music and horse-and-carriage rides before the evening parade. Organizers are asking floats, groups, businesses and organizations to enter the parade, and the sign-up link is on the event’s calendar page.
