Tishomingo County Tire Slashing at Fair: Man Charged
A Burnsville man is facing charges after tires were slashed on several vehicles parked at the Tishomingo County Fair in Iuka earlier this month. The Tishomingo County tire slashing case led to four counts of malicious mischief, according to the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said in a social media update this week that it received the report on Oct. 15, 2026, while the annual fair was underway in Iuka. Deputies investigated the damage to multiple vehicles at the fairgrounds.

As a result of that investigation, the sheriff’s office said, Dustin Tucker of Burnsville has been charged with:
- Four counts of malicious mischief
Tucker’s bond was set at $9,822, according to the sheriff’s office. The post did not say how many vehicles were damaged in total, what the repairs cost, or what may have led to the incident.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
What Malicious Mischief Means in Mississippi
Under Mississippi law, malicious mischief is the crime of intentionally destroying or damaging someone else’s property. Whether it is charged as a misdemeanor or a felony depends largely on the value of the damage. Damage above $1,000 can be charged as a felony. Each count generally covers a separate act or victim. Final charges and any penalties will be decided by the courts as the case moves forward.
Fair Week in Iuka
The Tishomingo County Fair is one of the biggest community events of the fall in Iuka, drawing families from across the county for rides, livestock shows, pageants, food and entertainment. Many fairgoers park on or near the grounds for hours at a time, which can leave vehicles unattended into the night.
Law enforcement agencies routinely urge people attending large events to:
- Park in well-lit areas when possible
- Check vehicles for damage before driving away
- Report vandalism right away and take photos of any damage
- Share any doorbell camera, dash camera or phone video with investigators
Anyone with more information about the case can contact the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office at 662-423-7000.
