Arrowheads, stone tools and other pieces of the region’s deep past will fill Crossroads Arena this weekend as the Corinth Indian Artifact Show returns on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Magnolia State Archaeological Society (MSAS) hosts the annual show, which runs from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the arena, 2800 Harper Road in Corinth. Admission is free.
The show brings together collectors, hobbyists and history buffs from around the Mid-South. Visitors can browse displays of Native American projectile points and other artifacts, talk with longtime collectors about where and how pieces were found, and learn how archaeologists and amateurs identify point types.

According to the society’s official flyer, awards will be handed out in several categories:
Best Recent Find, in three divisions: flint; stone, bone and other; and under age 14
Best of Show
Best Educational Display
Best Featured Point Type, which this year is the Pine Tree point
The flyer notes that exhibitors must be members of MSAS or the Central States Archaeological Societies (CSAS) to be eligible for awards. The youth division for finders under 14 gives young collectors a chance to show off their own discoveries.
In a recent social media post, the society told followers it “can’t wait” for the Corinth show, and it has asked members to send in recent finds for its upcoming newsletter.
A busy Saturday in Corinth
The artifact show lands on a full Saturday in Corinth. The Green Market at the Corinth Depot is also scheduled for Oct. 3, according to the market’s Facebook page, so visitors can pair a morning at the arena with a stop downtown.
Crossroads Arena’s fall schedule continues after the artifact show with Corinth Comic Con on Oct. 31, Brantley Gilbert’s Real American Tour on Nov. 7 and the Crossroads Cluster AKC Dog Show on Nov. 13.

Collectors should remember that federal and state laws protect artifacts on public land, including national parks and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and TVA property. Taking artifacts from those lands is illegal, so finds should come only from private land with the owner’s permission.
