Corinth Pharmacists Indicted in $742K Medicare and Medicaid Fraud Scheme

CORINTH, Miss. — Two Corinth pharmacists have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their alleged roles in a scheme to defraud Medicare and Medicaid of more than $740,000 over a five-year period.

According to the federal indictment filed May 29, Ricky Wayne Quinn, owner of Medical Plaza at Alcorn, LLC (doing business as Medical Plaza Pharmacy), and John Anthony “Andy” Null, a licensed pharmacist and long-time employee at the same location, are charged with one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud.

Federal prosecutors allege that between January 2017 and December 2021, Quinn and Null worked with an unnamed co-conspirator to submit fraudulent claims for prescription medications. The indictment states that prescriptions were filled under patients’ names but were never picked up, returned to stock, or issued without any intention of being used. In some cases, prescriptions were allegedly billed in the names of family members or acquaintances recruited by the co-conspirator in exchange for kickbacks.

These false claims resulted in Medicare covering approximately $742,814 worth of prescription costs for individuals who allegedly never received or used the medications.

If convicted, both men face up to 10 years in federal prison, significant fines, and potential exclusion from federal healthcare programs.

Both Quinn and Null have pleaded not guilty and were released on unsecured $10,000 bonds.
