Parents arrested on child abuse and drug charges after infant dies

After their 2-month-old child was found unresponsive, James Settlemires, 22, and Brittany Williams, 21, were arrested in Corinth on charges of child abuse and drug possession.

The police were summoned to an apartment on Proper Street, where they discovered the infant and two other small children.

The baby was pronounced dead after being taken to a Corinth hospital.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Police detectives discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the apartment.
