Alcorn County Disaster Service Center to Close Until June 1

The Disaster Service Center in Alcorn County, located at the Northeast Community Center at 2759 South Harper Road, will be closed until June 1, according to officials.

Residents do not need to visit the center to apply for FEMA assistance. The Federal Emergency Management Agency recommends applying online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, calling 1-800-621-3362, or using the FEMA app.

The closure is part of ongoing efforts to manage disaster response and recovery in the area. Officials urge residents to use digital or phone options to access assistance during this period.
