Final day to apply for winter storm assistance is Tuesday
Residents impacted by the January 23-27 winter storms have until Tuesday to apply for federal assistance, according to FEMA. The agency encourages applicants to submit their claims online, by phone, through the FEMA App, or in person at Disaster Service Centers.
Centers are located in several counties, including Alcorn, Lafayette, Panola, Leflore, Benton, Yazoo, Carroll, Coahoma, Montgomery, Tallahatchie, Pontotoc, Marshall, and Tishomingo.
FEMA emphasizes that receiving aid will not affect recipients’ Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits, the agency said.
Applicants are urged to act quickly, as the deadline is approaching.
