Heat Advisory Issued for Southern Mid-South as Cold Front Stalls

A cold front is expected to bring cooler weather to the Mid-South, but the front will stall south of the Tennessee-Mississippi border, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.

Despite the cooler trend, heat indices in southern portions of the region are expected to remain above 105 degrees. As a result, a Heat Advisory has been issued for parts of the area from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., officials said.

The advisory urges residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The weather service noted that temperatures behind the front will be significantly cooler compared to yesterday, providing some relief for residents in the area.
