The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is emphasizing the importance of boater education during National Safe Boating Week. The agency reminds individuals born after June 30, 1980, that they must complete a boater safety course before operating a motorized vessel on Mississippi’s public waters.
MDWFP offers both in-person and online courses designed to teach navigation rules, hazard recognition, and safety practices. The courses aim to equip boaters with essential skills to ensure safe outings on the water.
