Mississippi first responders host golf tournament to support trooper battling illness

First responders in Mississippi organized a golf tournament to raise funds for Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Landon Murphy, who has been battling an illness for some time, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

More than 100 players participated in the event, which aimed to demonstrate the strength of the first responder community and its commitment to supporting its members, the department said.

The department expressed pride in standing with Murphy and his family during this difficult time. The tournament showcased the community’s dedication to taking care of its own, officials added.
