The National Weather Service has announced that applications are now open for its local summer student volunteer program. The initiative provides college students an opportunity to work alongside NWS meteorologists and gain hands-on experience in weather forecasting and operations.
Students interested in participating can find more information and apply through the agency’s website at https://weather.gov/meg/volunteer, according to NWS officials.
The program aims to foster interest in meteorology and provide practical training for students considering careers in weather science or related fields.
Applications are open to college students from all backgrounds, and the NWS encourages interested individuals to apply early.
