Mississippi increases cigarette fee for non-settling manufacturers to 2.27 cents per cigarette
Mississippi’s non-settling manufacturer (NSM) cigarette fee will increase to 2.27 cents per cigarette starting July 1, 2026, according to state officials.
The fee was previously 2.20 cents per cigarette. The new rate aligns with requirements set forth by state law, and it will be reflected on the July 2026 tax returns and all future filings, the Mississippi Department of Revenue announced.
Officials encouraged interested parties to review the detailed notice and technical bulletin available on the department’s website for more information about the fee increase.
