Mississippi Offers Free Deer Management Program for Landowners

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is offering its free Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) to private landowners. The program aims to assist landowners in managing their lands for healthy deer populations while preserving habitat quality.

Data collected through DMAP helps develop site-specific harvest recommendations and land management strategies. With the help of hunters across the state, MDWFP gathers valuable information to better understand the Mississippi deer herd and improve future management efforts.
