Mississippi State Auditor urges graduates to prioritize family

Mississippi State Auditor Shad White emphasized the importance of family during a commencement speech to graduates. White told the graduates that family is the most meaningful thing in life, according to a statement from his office.

His office previously released a report on the taxpayer costs associated with fatherlessness in Mississippi, underscoring the societal impact of family stability. White said that family isn’t just essential for personal fulfillment but also has broader implications for the community and taxpayers.

While congratulating the graduates on their achievements, White urged them to consider starting families of their own. He described it as one of the most meaningful decisions they can make in life.
